The cuisine in Northern Italy is hearty and comforting, well-suited for the colder climate. I indulged in Risotto alla Milanese, a creamy dish infused with saffron, originating from Lombardy. The dish is a true local favorite, often served at family gatherings and special occasions. Additionally, I savored the rich flavors of polenta, an everyday staple that pairs wonderfully with meat dishes, and experiences the distinct taste of fontina cheese from the Aosta Valley, famous for its creamy texture and earthy flavor.
